The tranquil Japanese garden at Mt Coot-tha’s Botanical gardens is transformed into a hive of activity this Sunday on Japanese Cultural Day, with a programme of traditional activities and demonstrations. Bimer Bonsai will have a display and be working on their trees.
Visitors can get to watch the art of Ikebana (flower arrangement), intricate calligraphy, Mochitsku (rice cake making) , traditional tea ceremonies and a Japanese music performance.
For the full experience, while there take the opportunity to visit the Garden’s bonsai house.
