Dear bonsai enthusiasts,
The time has come for Australian Natives to get their day in the sun!
In May 2019 the 32nd AABC Convention, Australian Natives Breaking Through The
Bonsai Ceiling, will wholly focus on natives and the endless possibilities they have to
offer as bonsai.
Our headline demonstrator is Ryan Neil, who advocates bonsai artists using the natural
materials available in their own country, so who better to share his passion with us.
We have a limited number of Master Class workshops with Ryan where sixteen
participants will get one-on-one time with Ryan and these are filling up fast. At last count
there were only 2 spots left on the Friday and 6 on the Monday. If obtaining good
quality native stock is an issue for you, let us know as we may be able to help.
Hugh Grant, a popular local bonsai artist and AABC VTP tutor will run workshops on the
Monday and those spots are filling up fast.
We’ve put together two Friday Tours for those arriving early, one to the Heide Museum
of Modern Art and the other to the Royal Botanic Gardens, Cranbourne.
If you chose to stay at the venue, we have received a bonus, the room prices are $10
cheaper now than at the time of printing the booklet so make sure to quote Association
of Australian Bonsai Clubs 2019 to get the discounted price.
We hope to see many of you join us in Melbourne, in May 2019.
